Greetings!
My name is Kathryn Schulte. I have been fascinated by mathematics and computers ever since I watched my dad build a Heath Kit computer in a basement room that doubled as a firewood / holiday boxes / office space. I spent many hours creating little games in Basic.
I was never very good at mathematics until my freshman Algebra class. The beauty of mathematics has continued to play a major role in my education and career.
Today, I am active creating dozens of Flash animations, video and PowerPoint presentations, math jpgs and websites - most famously www.picrust.com featuring free online math worksheets and a YouTube site called picrustable.
Professionally, I worked for ten years as a College Lab Assistant in Mathematics at Central Lakes College. Currently, I am an adjunt instructor at Central Lakes College. I am teaching Prealgebra, Introduction to Algebra, Beginning College Algebra, and College Algebra. I am also teaching Prealgebra at the Millac Tribal College.
I earned a Master in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. I did it all online while working full-time. I have also earned 18 graduate semester math credits giving me the opportunity to teach at the community college level.
I have substitute taught Introduction to Algebra and Intro/Intermediate Algebra classes at Central Lakes College along with assistant teaching at the college. I am currently looking for a full-time math faculty job.
Past jobs have included a successful year as an Americore VISTA (translating German for Bosnian refugees), two summers in the Minnesota Conservation Corps and most recently, a summer position with the Duluth, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Department.
I am an alumni of:
Denfeld High School, Duluth, MN
Lake Superior College, Duluth, MN
University of Wisconsin, Superior, WI
Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, UT
